Colour is a powerful language that I love exploring. From vibrant hues that evoke joy and happiness, to subtle shades that convey a sense of calmness and serenity, colour has the power to capture people's attention and communicate ideas in an impactful way.
In addition to colour, circles play a recurring role in my work. They are a sacred symbol that has been honoured throughout time. It is a reminder of the seasons, sunrise to sunset, the Sun, Moon, Stars, and Earth. Most importantly to me they represent the circles of community and love, that I am privileged to have around me.
Above all, through my art, I aim to bring more light into the world by conveying uplifting messages of resilience and optimism, evoking a sense of joy through the vibrant colours, intricate details, and thought-provoking compositions.
My studio is in Toronto, Canada and when not at the easel you will find me exploring the city from the seat of my rose coloured bicycle or on my front porch with my partner and a cup of tea.
Every painting starts with inspiration and a strong cup of tea. I use professional grade materials every step of the way. I primarily work in acrylic and my go-to paints are Kroma Artist Acrylics, high quality, small batch paints created on Granville Island in Vancouver, Canada. My mark making is made using a variety of found objects and materials. One of my favourites, is a biscuit cutter I inherited from my grandmother. I believe this adds an unexpected quality to my work, a little bit of magic. The finishing touch is a stamp of my logo on the back and a interesting and lovely word as a title.
Every piece is unique and hand made. I do not sell prints, but instead one of a kind works. I work on canvas, wood panels and canvas board. Each piece is made by my hand and heart in the hope that it brings beauty and joy to others.
